Placenta Encapsulation Clients
My intention was to have a natural, unmedicated childbirth, with as little intervention as possible, and that is how we prepared. However, childbirth doesn’t always go according to plan. Nine days after my due date, an ultrasound revealed that my baby had rotated to a frank breech position. At that late date, external version posed unacceptable risk, and gentler methods of repositioning the baby were unlikely to work. We scheduled the C section for the next morning.
I was devastated, and very worried that the C section would result in a spiral of bad outcomes for me and the baby. Christina took this abrupt and profound change of plans in stride, and continued to provide excellent support to me and my husband. She was a calming presence as I was getting prepped for the procedure, stayed with me and my husband in the OR, and obtained my placenta for encapsulation. By the afternoon, I was comfortable, breastfeeding my baby, and thoroughly at peace with the outcome of my baby’s birth. I can’t imagine how my husband and I would have managed without Christina’s loving and steadfast support!
